The Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Grand Date watch is animated by the fine 6925 Calibre movement. Composed of 307 hand-finished pieces, this movement offers the traditional attention to detail and masterful craftsmanship for which the house of Blancpain is famous. The bridges are decorated with Cotes de Geneve or perlage finishing on their top surfaces, while the edges are sensuously rounded with anglage; the gold rotor features intricate, hand-engraved motifs. The tourbillon cage itself is affixed to the plate on one side; this so-called "flying" tourbillon construction permits a more open view of the tourbillon than would be the case in a tourbillon mounted on a bridge, and is a distinctive characteristic of many Blancpain tourbillon watches.

The large date mechanism, conceived to be both elegant, practical, and precise, switches instantaneously.
