Basel 2008: Breguet Heritage Tourbillon Watch

The Breguet Heritage Tourbillon Watch, Ref. 5497PT/12/9V6, enriches the extensive array of extremely fine tourbillon timepieces offered by the house of Breguet.  This watch has a tonneau shaped platinum case, which features a polished bezel, and the distinctive Breguet fluted caseband.  Crafted in two axes, the elaborate dial is made from silvered 18K gold, and displays a hand-engraved engraved guilloche pattern created on a rose engine.  The Roman numeral minute chapter is carved in one piece and carefully applied; the elegant tourbillon bridge harmonizes with the dial design, and serves as the number '6'.  Hands are blued in the traditional manner of fire roasting, and feature the famous 'pomme' shape which has come to define the iconic Breguet style.

Breguet's 187H Caliber animates the Heritage Tourbillon watch.  This hand-wound movement is extensively refined and decorated by the Breguet artisans in accordance with haute de gamme tradition.  Power reserve is approximately 50 hours.  The balance wheel, outfitted with weighted screws, and a Breguet overcoil, oscillates at a traditional pace of 18,000 vibrations per hour. The tourbillon carriage completes a single revolution on its axis every 60 seconds
