"Rachel Getting Married" Premiere Celebrated By Parmigiani Fleurier

Parmigiani Fleurier SA, a notable Swiss manufacturer of exclusive luxury timepieces hosted a September 15th after-party celebration for "Rachel Getting Married", a new film by Jonathan Demme which stars Anne Hathaway and Rosemarie DeWitt.  The elegant event took place in Beverly Hills immediately proceeding the Writers Guild screening.  A selection of Parmigiani Fleurier watches for both genders were on display.

Parmigiani Fleurier SA was founded in 1996 by star watchmaker and clock restoration expert Michel Parmigiani, with the financial backing of the Sandoz Foundation.  The brand is noted for its extremely small production of rare and complicated timepieces, among them the Kalpa Hebdomadaire 8-day Tourbillon, the Toric Retrograde Perpetual Calendar, and the unusual Bugatti Type 370 whose uniquely constructed traverse mechanical movement evokes the structure of high-performance car engines.  

In 2008, Parmigiani Fleurier debuted several new models, among them the Kalpa Hemispheres, a multiple-timezone watch whose mechanical movement allows its user to accurately monitor locales which are off-set from UTC (universal time coordinated) by a half hour or three-quarters of an hour.
