On October 23rd in New York City, Montblanc threw a grand celebration to mark its new alliance with the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the 46664 campaign in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Among the figures in attendance were members of the South African Consulate, important Montblanc clients and editors from prominent media avenues.
Montblanc, in concert with Coutts, Inc. is producing the 46664 bangle, a symbolic piece of jewelry whose sales will provide direct support for the health education and humanitarian programs of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the 46664 charity. The number 466/64 was the prison number assigned to Mandela during his years of incarceration at Robben Island.
Available in both mens and womens sizes, the 46664 bangle is made from platinum, gold, or silver, all obtained from South Africa. In addition to "46664", each bangle features a three-dimensional imprint of Nelson Mandela's left hand. An individual serial number allows each purchaser to authenticate and register their bracelet. The bracelets will be sold by select Montblanc boutiques across the globe.
