In October 2008, Swiss watch brand Omega hosted an exclusive VIP dinner in conjunction with London Jewelers. Valued customers and collectors gathered at the New York Institute of Technology de Seversky Center in Old Westbury, NY where Omega watchmaker and trainer Dan Fenwick gave an in-depth presentation on Omega's famed Co-Axial Escapement, as well as the Omega DeVille Hour Vision watch and its in-house Caliber 8500 automatic movement.
Before the event concluded, attendees had some hands-on experience with watchmaking, as Fenwick provided gentle coaching in the disassembly of various Omega watches.
This exceptional opportunity was not the first for Omega. In September, the historic Swiss watch brand held a collector's dinner in partnership with Manfredi Jewels in Greenwich, Connecticut. Guided by Omega's Fenwick, dinner attendees had the chance to deepen their appreciation of mechanical watchmaking.
