SIHH 2009 Preview: Van Cleef & Arpels Une Journee a Paris Watch

Fine jewelry and watch house Van Cleef & Arpels has revealed images of a charming new timepiece that will make its official debut at the 2009 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.  To be produced in 18-karat white or pink gold, the Van Cleef & Arpels "Une Journee a Paris" watch utilizes a charming and beautiful dial whose rotating element evokes the idyllic charm and insouciance of the City of Light.  Crafted from onyx, the rotating disc is adorned with polished gold figures which stroll happily in front of famous Parisian landmarks; over the course of a 24-hour period, these carefree characters disappear and re-emerge from beneath the mother of pearl dial sector.  Round brilliant diamonds adorn both the bezel and central section of the strap lugs.  

The Van Cleef & Arpels Une Journee a Paris watches feature sapphire crystals, and straps in hand-sewn crocodile leather.
