Thanks to the rapid balance wheel frequency, the chronograph can time independent intervals of time to 1/10 of a second. The impressive 51 X 36mm rectangular case is crafted from titanium, and frames a dial made from transparent TR90 material spanned by a blackened white gold "grill" that radiates from the dial center and the central points of the chronograph subdials and tourbillon. Beneath this grill, mysterious glimpses of the mechanism shine forth, including blued steel screws, some of the movement jewels, and the fascinating rotating tourbillon cage. Thanks to a sapphire window in the caseback, the full complexity of the complicated Zenith El Primero 4007 movement can be appreciated.
