"Armin By Armin Strom" Elements Watches

Armin Strom, a master watchmaker celebrated for his skill in the art of skeleton movements, is the inspirational force behind a new collection of watches.  Following up upon a series of prototypes introduced to the public in 2008, the first "Armin by Armin Strom" Elements watches will make their debut at Baselworld 2009.  These models reflect the purposeful modern concept of Armin Strom AG, and present a unique blend of contemporary design and traditional watchmaking artistry.  

“Creating the new label was the obvious step to take,” said Serge Michel, Managing Director of Armin Strom AG. “While maintaining a strong awareness of our tradition, we are striving to take innovative new paths.”

The Armin by Armin Strom Elements watch collection will comprise four variations, inspired by the elements of earth, air, water and fire.  Cases are crafted from titanium, and measure 43.60mm in diameter.  The finishing applied to the case and the color schemes of the dials reflect the specific element; for example "Earth" features a black PVD-coating on its case, while "Fire" presents a striking PVD finish that has an appearance reminiscent of red gold.   All four models are fitted with a luxurious strap in alligator leather, and a titanium folding clasp whose finish matches that of the case.  Water resistance is rated for 50 meters.  

Animating the Armin by Armin Strom Elements watches is an in-house manufactured hand-wound movement, which presents a retrograde date complication and an unusual arrangement of off-centered indicators for the hours, minutes and seconds.  These distinctive indications play out on dials that emphasize the craftsmanship of the underlying mechanism, and echo the open-working techniques which have made the Armin Strom name respected by connoisseurs.  A sapphire exhibition caseback is fitted to the watch, giving the owner an unobstructed view of the fine workmanship.  Power reserve of the Armin Strom ASR07 caliber is 46 hours.
