SIHH 2009: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Flying Tourbillon

A flying tourbillon is one of the highlights of the 2009 Roger Dubuis watch collection. Presented in 18-karat pink gold, the 42mm Roger Dubuis Excalibur Flying Tourbillon watch showcases a captivating demonstration of Abraham-Louis Breguet's most famous invention. At the six o'clock position on the silvered sunray dial, a large aperture exposes the intricate mechanism of the one-minute tourbillon, whose polished cage is affixed with a blued steel hand to indicate the passing seconds.

The Excalibur Flying Tourbillon watch is powered by a manually wound movement designed and manufactured in-house by Roger Dubuis. Comprised of 143 hand-finished parts, the caliber has earned the "Poincon de Geneve" (Geneva Seal) hallmark for its adherence to the twelve absolute criteria stipulated by Geneva for mechanical movements of the highest quality. Balance frequency is 21,600 vibrations per hour, and power reserve is 50 hours.

The Manufacture Roger Dubuis will also offer variants of the Excalibur Flying Tourbillon watch with black or chocolate-colored dials. All versions of this prestigious timepiece are fitted with sapphire crystals, and a hand-sewn strap in crocodile leather. Manufactured with the same attention to detail as the case, the intricate pink gold folding clasp bears the engraved initials of the brand.
