Based upon the the company's Leman Grand Date Tourbillon watch, the Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Transparence watch offers an incredible visual feast, with an intricate dial of clear sapphire that displays the entire underdial work, with its intricate finishing. The sapphire dial is a work of art into itself--only 0.40mm in thickness, it is precisely drilled with 33 miniscule holes to mount the faceted hour markers. The date window frame is also painstakingly engraved, and colored for greater definition around the date mechanism and power-reserve scale.

The Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Transparence watch is animated by the selfwinding 6925A Calibre, a movement exclusive to Blancpain. Its 307 individual pieces are finished by hand before assembly and fine-tuning by a single Blancpain master watchmaker. The flying one-minute tourbillon is a masterpiece of delicacy, its miniscule cage entirely finished by hand, and bearing the balance wheel and all the parts of the escapement. The large-date mechanism, borne on two discs, switches instantly at the turn of midnight, an impressive accomplishment in itself; even though this feature demands more power than a standard gradual-shift date wheel, the Tourbillon Transparence watch still features a very impressive 7-day power reserve, a reduction of only one day compared to the older model with a conventional pointer-type date indicator.

Viewed through the exhibition sapphire caseback, the movement's bridges are decorated with hand-applied Cotes de Geneve and perlage finishes, and the edges of all parts are gently rounded with anglage. The winding rotor, carved from platinum, is engraved with elaborate motifs, all done by a single talented artisan. The Blancpain Leman Tourbillon Transparence watch features the classic Leman watch case, which is masterfully polished and sculpted; equipped with a screwed-in caseback and screw-down crown, it is water resistant to a depth of 100 meters. The watch is available in a limited edition of 27 pieces, in platinum, with a black crocodile strap and a platinum deployant buckle, or a warm 18K red gold version, complete with a honey-colored crocodile strap and a matching deployant buckle in 18K red gold.
