Not only does this large date have a much greater presence upon the dial, the mechanics behind its operation are considerably more sophisticated than a conventional date display; as an added bonus, Blancpain has designed this date mechanism for instantaneous change. Viewed through the exhibition sapphire caseback, the artistry practiced within the BLancpain atelier is obvious--the bridges and winding rotor are embellished with Cotes de Geneve and perlage decoration, screws are polished and fire blued, and every edge is lovingly beveled and coaxed to a fine mirror finish.
