Pre-Basel 2008: Universal Geneve Microrotor Cabriolet Watch

Universal Geneve will debut its Microtor Cabriolet watch, a unique rectangular timepiece which features a reversible stainless steel case.  The timepiece is fitted with sapphire crystals on both front and back, and a hand-stitched crocodile strap with a steel folding clasp.  Six different dial options are available, each displaying an expressive scheme of hour figures, and skeletonized dauphine hands.

The Universal Geneve Microtor Cabriolet watch houses an exclusive movement, manufactured by Universal Geneve.  The  UG 101 calibre features a balance wheel that alternates 28,800 times each hour, and has a power reserve of 42 hours; the caliber also offers a date display and sweep seconds.  A micro-rotor winding mechanism harkens back to classic Universal Geneve calibers. This distinctive rotor is visible through an aperture on the reverse side of the watch, along with the balance wheel.  Baseplates are decorated with perlage, while bridges display a Cotes de Geneve pattern.
