TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer Watch

The TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer watch is a dynamic new timepiece which promises to carry on the legendary reputation of TAG Heuer as a pioneer in the realm of sports timing. The first SLR watch to be offered as a non-limited edition, the SLR Laptimer offers advances upon the acclaimed TAG Heuer Calibre S electro-mechanical movement.

An uncompromising attitude of cutting edge sports aesthetics governs the design of the stainless steel case, whose dynamic lines are emphasized by the bold 47mm diameter. Sapphire crystals are naturally fitted, which are treated with an anti-reflective material on both sides to minimize glare to the greatest extent possible. Like a race car, the controls of the TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer watch--the dual fluted crowns, and textured 45-degree pushpieces--emphasize ergonomic design and maximal functionality. The tachymeter bezel, indispensable to measuring average times, is finished with titanium carbide for durability and stealthy good looks. Water resistance of the watch is rated at 100 meters.

The black or silver line-pattern dial of the TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer timepiece gives some hint of the flexible functionality this wrist instrument offers. Building upon the selective timekeeping/chronographic functions inaugurated by TAG Heuer with the first Caliber S movement, the movement in the SLR Laptimer offers retrograde functions for 1/10th and 1/100th second intervals, a best lap indicator (up to 20 laps), and a perpetual calendar with retrograde functionality.

Set for availability around October of 2008, the TAG Heuer SLR Laptimer watch will be offered with a 5-link stainless steel bracelet incorporating SLR lettering and safety releases, or a rubber strap whose texture draws inspiration from the lateral air intake of the SLR 722 car.
