Tokyo Watch Fair To Debut In 2009

As a result of their success with "Watch World", which expanded the showings for 2007's International Jewellery Tokyo (IJT), Reed Exhibitions Japan will inaugurate a a show that makes luxury timepieces its entire focus.  Set to kick off in January 2009, the Tokyo International Watch Fair (TWF) will feature a broad assemblage of high end watches of all genres as well as clocks, and a range of products and services related to watches.  This focus on producing an outstanding exhibit for visitors and exhibitors is a reflection of the No. 2 status of Japan as a leader in the consumption of luxury watches.  Therefore, the TWF is of great interest to watch manufacturers who wish to expand their presence in this important market; it also offers great appeal to Japanese importers, who will have the opportunity to forge relationships with major brands without having to travel.  

Reed Exhibitions Japan, which organizes 38 major trade shows each year, expects that IJT will be the largest Asian watch show within the next 5 years, with an anticipated 600 watch companies from around the globe participating.
