A. Lange & Söhne Opens Shanghai Boutique

A. Lange & S?hne, famed German manufacturer of fine timepieces, has opened a new boutique in Shanghai.  Following upon the heels of the brand's recently opened store in Dresden, A. Lange & S?hne's Shanghai boutique will offer Chinese connoisseurs a great opportunity to get acquainted with the brand's exceptional creations of Saxon haute horlogerie, including the new Cabaret Tourbillon, which debuted at the SIHH 2008 watch fair in Geneva.

A ribbon cutting ceremony attended by A. Lange & S?hne CEO Fabian Krone took place on July 1, to inaugurate the new showcase which is located adjacent to the Huangpu River waterfront promenade, at the UNESCO building "Bund 18".  Designed in accordance with the brand's motto "state of the art tradition", the boutique merges elegant materials such as acacia wood, fine leathers, famed Meissen porcelain and sandstone--the same natural substance used in many famous structures found in A. Lange & S?hne's native Saxony.  An environment of sophistication and dignified luxury highlighted by state of the art lighting and media presentations provide for an ideal customer experience, where nearly the entire A. Lange & S?hne watch collection will be available.

Due to the burgeoning numbers of significant Chinese watch collectors and other luxury consumers, A. Lange & S?hne has placed great priority on establishing a strong presence in the Chinese market.  Brand CEO Fabian Krone stated: "Demand among Chinese watch lovers for A. Lange & S?hne timepieces has greatly increased in recent years. Opening separate stores in China is therefore right at the very top of our agenda".  Ming Lu, who will serve as Lange's regional manager also expressed his great enthusiasm, commenting that A. Lange & S?hne is "a fascinating brand ,with enormous potential on the Chinese market.  Its special appeal lies in horological artistry steeped in both tradition and innovation and in the myth that has its roots in the comeback story."  

A. Lange & S?hne is also looking forward to opening a second boutique in China later in the year, in Beijing.
