Corum Praises Ben Ainslie's Gold Medal Victory In 2008 Beijing Olympics

Swiss watch brand Corum has reiterated its pride in its ambassador Ben Ainslie, the outstanding British yachtsman who sailed to his third Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games.  

On August 17, 2008 Ainslie faced powerful currents in Qingdao to successfully challenge Zach Railey of the United States, ultimately leading his rival by 12 points and claiming the gold medal.  Impressively, in four of the nine races sailed, Ainslie succeeded in taking a middle or low top ten result and turning it into a winning position on the downwind legs.  Overall, Ainslie's gold medal--his third at three consecutive Olympic Games--was won by a monumental 22 points.  Without question, Ainslie has earned the title of Britain's greatest Olympic sailor.
