Jaeger-LeCoultre Lierre Watch And Jewelry Collection; 14,000 Gemstones And 1,300 Hours Of Labor

With the introduction of its Le Lierre collection, Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has succeeded in producing an extraordinary creation of artistic haute joaillerie.  Comprised of a watch, a necklace, earrings, and a ring, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Le Lierre set recreates the lush beauty of coiled ivy leaves, rendered entirely in 18K yellow gold, tsavorites, yellow sapphires, and diamonds.  

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Le Lierre wristwatch is a cuff-type design, which conceals its dial beneath one of the "leaves"; the complex 18K gold structure creates the vines of the ivy, while the deep green tsavorites and yellow sapphires capture the hue of ivy leaves, complete with the contrasting veining.  The movement animating the watch is the manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 846.   Echoing the complex design of the wristwatch, the Le Lierre necklace, ring and earrings recreate the flowing interweaving tendrils and creepers of ivy, with blackened 18K yellow gold, tsavorites, emeralds, and--in the case of the necklace and ring--oval yellow diamonds. 

In total, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Lierre watch and jewelry set demands more than 1,300 hours of labor by master jewelers, and comprises approximately 14,000 gemstones.  Jaeger-LeCoultre has indicated that the suggested retail price for set is 3 million Euros (USD 4.3 million).
