The intricacies of Seiko's acclaimed Spring Drive watch technology will be revealed in an exciting traveling exhibition that will commence in just a few days. Beginning on September 29th and continuing through October 3rd, master Seiko watchmaker Chitose Masuda will tour five jewelers throughout the United States, demonstrating her skill. Masuda, one of the few individuals capable of entirely assembling the complex Seiko Spring Drive, will offer viewers an illuminating look at the ingenuity of the system by disassembling and reassembling its more than 400 individual components. In all, twenty-eight years were invested by Seiko to develop the Spring Drive movement, which uniquely unifies traditional mechanical watchmaking with sophisticated electronics.
"The Spring Drive exhibition is a great way for Seiko Watch to demonstrate and communicate its expertise and dedication in fine watchmaking", stated Seiko Corporation of America Executive Vice President Les Perry.
The Spring Drive exhibition will first visit the Torneau store in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Old Northeast Jewelers in St. Petersburg (FL). Moving westward, Seiko will visit Arizon Fine Time in Scottsdale, AZ, followed by stops at Jackson Square Fine Jewels in Redwood City, CA and World Lux in Seattle, WA. These retailers were selected by Seiko Watch due to particularly strong interest from their client base in the Spring Drive technology.
