Blancpain And Lamborghini Unite

The celebrated connection between fine timepieces and exceptional cars has been given renewed strength through a union between Swiss watchmaker Blancpain and Automobili Lamborghini.

Blancpain and Lamborghini share much in common as producers of high performance, hand-crafted mechanical luxury products of great desirability.  A press release issued by Blancpain notes that the relationship is based upon the "twin themes of speed and mechanical prestige", and will inspire the creation of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo--the world's first automobile championship for Lamborghini cars.  

Marc A. Hayek, CEO of Blancpain, and Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini forged the official alliance between the companies at the race season's final DTM Grand Prix at Germany's Hockenheim track, on October 25th, 2008.  Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 cars, proudly emblazoned with Blancpain emblems and various timepiece images will compete from May 2009 onwards in exclusive competitions on premier European racing tracks.
