A magnificent neo-classical villa at the address of 796 Huai Hai Lu in Shanghai is now a luxurious showcase for historic Swiss watch brand Vacheron Constantin. The Vacheron Constantin Mansion occupies the east wing of twin villas built in the 1920's by Jiang Bing Sheng. Alfred Dunhill will occupy the other villa, and present visitors with a sumptuous array of menswear and luxurious leather goods and luggage.
The beautiful construction of the Vacheron Constantin Mansion with its impeccable, luxurious detailing and exquisite furnishings provides a private sanctuary where connoisseurs can immerse themselves in the art and culture of one of the world's oldest and most distinguished watchmaking houses. In addition to an extensive range of contemporary Vacheron Constantin watches, the Mansion will offer antique pieces and an exclusive "Atelier Cabinotiers Special Order" service. The presence of Vacheron Constantin master watchmaker Alexandre Kerguen assures a full range of after-sale services, to include high complications which would ordinarily have to return to Geneva.
As head of the Customer Service Center at the Vacheron Constantin Mansion, Kerguen will head up the integral collector's salon. This service will interact deeply with Chinese connoisseurs, relaying key information back to Geneva that will improve future service to its Chinese clientele. China is one of the most significant markets for Vacheron Constantin watches; of its twenty global boutiques, no fewer than twelve are located there.
The Mansion's grand ribbon cutting ceremony took place on October 15, 2008. Standing alongside the top company executives were Mr. Jean Constantin and Ms. Odette Constantin, descendants of Vacheron Constantin co-founder Francois Constantin.
"As a watch brand with 253 years of history, records have been found indicating that Vacheron Constantin sales to China date back to the end of the 18th century," stated Juan-Carlos Torres, CEO of Vacheron Constantin. "The Vacheron Constantin Mansion, Shanghai combines a retail experience with a Customer Service Center, special order & bespoke services, and a Collector’s Salon. This new launch demonstrates Vacheron Constantin’s long-term commitment and close connection to Chinese market.”
