Ernst Benz By John Varvatos Limited Edition ChronoScope

Fashion designer John Varvatos is expressing his admiration for vintage timepieces through an exclusive partnership with watch brand Ernst Benz.  Ernst Benz's Leonid Khankin has joined forces with Varvatos to create a limited edition chronograph watch with a decidedly retro-inspired aesthetic concept.

The Ernst Benz by John Varvatos Limited Edition ChronoScope watch features a brushed stainless steel case with contrasting chronograph pushers, a curved sapphire crystal, and black or anthracite dials which have a special finish that closely mimics the natural patina on vintage timepieces.  The straps are crafted from luxurious leathers, including alligator, crocodile, and bison which can be custom configured for color and finishing.  Animating the watches is a self-winding ETA-Valjoux 7750 caliber, which offers a day and a date function in addition to a chronograph complication and a small seconds indicator; power reserve is approximately 48 hours.

I have collected vintage watches for years because of their intricate design and architecture," said Varvatos in a press release. "It was a natural next step to create my own special timepiece with Leonid Khankin translating my design philosophy and blending my aesthetics intricately into the watch components." 

Ernst Benz will produce 250 individually numbered examples of each variation of the John Varvatos Limited Edition ChronoScope watch.  The watches will be sold at John Varvatos boutiques across the United States, and carry a retail price of $6,800.
