Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon Full Set

Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin has presented an extraordinary haute joaillerie interpretation of its acclaimed Royal Blue--a beautiful tourbillon watch remarkable for its captivating blue sapphire bridges which reveal every element of the finely finished manual winding movement.  

The Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon Full Set features a 43mm platinum case.  80 baguette-cut diamonds--5.07 carats in all--adorn bezel, lugs and winding crown; an additional 45 baguette sapphires (9.19 cts.) are set into the case and lug flanks.  Another ring of baguette diamonds encircles the outer rim of the dial, punctuated by baguette sapphires at the hour positions.  The watch will be offered on a blue alligator leather strap with a sapphire and diamond set platinum folding clasp, or an exquisite platinum bracelet set with 432 baguette diamonds (27.77 cts.) and 176 baguette sapphires (6.99 cts.).  A final elegant touch is the sapphire cabochon set on the top of the winding crown. 

The hand-wound UN-79 movement is a joint effort between Ulysse Nardin and complication specialist Christophe Claret.  Balance wheel frequency is 18,000 beats per hour and mainspring reserve is 100 hours.  Notable technical elements of the UN-79 include a circular rack winding system and the one-minute tourbillon whose design and construction is inspired by an original mechanism from famed horologist James Pellaton. 

The Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon Full Set will be offered in a limited edition of 30 pieces.  Water resistance is rated for 30 meters.
