Pre-Baselworld 2009: Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 Watch

Chopard's iconic Mille Miglia watch collection will be enriched with a special, limited production chronograph.  To be introduced in a symbolic series of 2,009 pieces, the Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 pays tribute to the historic glories of the famous Italian endurance race while simultaneously commemorating a particularly well-received Chopard model that made its debut during the 1990's.  

The Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 watch features a polished stainless steel case that reflects contemporary preferences through its stately 42mm diameter.  Subtle yet visually striking, the metallic ruthenium dial with displays a sunburst finish, contrastingly outlined chronograph subdials, and luminous Arabic hour markers.  The sporty red-tipped central chronograph hand which travels over the peripheral tachymeter scale to calculate average speeds is complimented by a discreet "1000 Miglia" logo that adorns the space inside the small seconds subdial.  Tucked elegantly between the 4 and 5 o'clock hour markers is a display for the date.  

A self-winding ETA-based mechanical movement appears through a sapphire crystal caseback window inscribed with the Limited Edition Mille Miglia detail.  This modular chronograph caliber features a 42-hour power reserve and a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.  This rapid frequency enables the chronograph function to record independent intervals of elapsed time to within 1/8th second.  Each of these movements has earned a chronometer certificate from the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC), after undergoing and passing 15 days of specific tests for precision through a range of positional and temperature variations.  

The Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 watch is completed by a rubber strap that proudly displays the pattern of a 1960's Dunlop Racing tire.  Affixing the watch to the wrist is a polished stainless steel tang buckle displaying the Chopard signature.
