Swiss watchmaker Longines has announced that tennis legend Steffi Graf will become its newest Ambassador of Elegance. Graf, an Olympic medalist and winner of 902 tournaments that include 22 Grand Slams is one the greatest athletes of the modern era; as such, she is in perfect alignment with the stated values of Longines--elegance, and excellence.
Retired since 1999, Steffi Graf and husband Andre Agassi--also a Longines ambassador--have devoted their time and energy to raising their children, as well as two charitable foundations devoted to children. Both of these foundations--Graf's "Children for Tomorrow Foundation" and Agassi's "The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation" are both actively supported by Longines.
Expressing his pleasure with Longines' newest representative, Walter von K?nel, the brand president, stated, "Longines is proud that Stefanie Graf has joined her husband in our family of Ambassadors. Her excellence, her courage and her commitment to serve others are values that we also respect and promote."
The historical brand from Saint-Imier, Swizterland enjoys a distinguished history of involvement with the world of high profile sports. As an associate of tennis, Longines has partnered with the prestigious French Open at Roland Garros since 2007.
"I am honored to represent such an excellent Swiss watch brand," said Graf. "Longines has a long reputation of quality and elegance. We share many values and a strong commitment for children in need. I am looking forward to enter into a valuable partnership with Longines which will also benefit my foundation 'Children for Tomorrow'."
