Vacheron Constantin Watches Awarded To Arabic Poetry Contest 2008 Laureates

Vacheron Constantin recently completed the hosting of poetry awards ceremony at the American University of Dubai.  2008 is the second year in which the historic Geneva watch manufacture has held the Vacheron Constantin Arabic Poetry contest for Young Poetic Talents.  A distinguished jury of notable Middle Eastern authors and poets evaluated the participants as they recited original works in contemporary or classical forms around themes of "Brotherhood" and "Time".   Among a group of finalists, Ashraf Bin Hamad Al Assimi from Sultan Qabous University won the classical category, while Mohammed Sbeei from Qatar University claimed the Contemporary prize.

In addition to the awards they were presented with, Al Assimi and Sbeei also received specially engraved Vacheron Constantin watches from Marc Guten, International Director of Vacheron Constantin.  

Regarding the long association between Vacheron Constantin and Middle Eastern culture, Guten said: "Vacheron Constantin has a long history with the Middle East.
