Blancpain Saint-Valentin 2009 Flyback Chronograph - A Ladies Watch For The Day Of Love

In faithful adherence to its annual tradition of creating romantically inspired ladies timepieces for the day of love, Swiss luxury watchmaker Blancpain has revealed the first glimpse of its limited edition Saint-Valentin 2009 Flyback Chronograph.

The Blancpain Saint-Valentin 2009 Flyback Chronograph measures 34mm in diameter, its classical case featuring a rich polish.  Both contemporary and slightly whimsical, the mother of pearl dial features skeletonized hands and Arabic hour markers.  The signature element, however, is the small seconds subdial at six o'clock with its heart-shaped circle of rubies.  The date display, elegantly tucked between the four and five o'clock hour markers, is equally symbolic, presenting its information in fiery red.  

A sapphire crystal window in the caseback of this delightful Blancpain watch reveals the exceptional craftsmanship of Caliber F185, one of the world's slimmest self-winding chronograph calibers with a prestigious--and traditional--column wheel controlled mechanism.  Bridges display perlage and Cotes de Geneve finishing, with each edge patiently rounded in the traditional technique of chamfering.  Balance wheel frequency is 21,600 beats per hour, and power reserve is 40 hours.  In all, the Caliber F185 is made up of no fewer than 308 individual components.  

Blancpain will produce 99 examples of the Saint-Valentin 2009 Flyback Chronograph.  Each timepiece is fitted with a strap in brilliant white alligator leather, and a signed folding clasp.
