Richard Mille RM 019 "Celtic Knot" Ladies Tourbillon Watch

In 2009, Richard Mille will release a new ladies tourbillon watch that showcases Celtic symbolism to highlight the craftsmanship and artistry of its exclusive mechanical movement.  Finely interwoven into the movement structure is a diamond-set Celtic knot, that symbolizes eternity and the continuity of time.  

The Richard Mille RM 019 Celtic Knot Tourbillon watch features the intricate Richard Mille tonneau case in a choice of 18-karat red or white gold; the dimensions are 45 X 38.3 millimeters.  A transparent sapphire crystal reveals the hand-wound RM 019 movement, which presents the "King of Complications", in addition to an differentially-geared indicator mechanism that reveals the status of the mainspring's 48-hour power reserve.  The tourbillon carriage, bearing its freely sprung balance with variable inertia weights, completes a revolution every 60 seconds; a ceramic endstone for the tourbillon cage has been incorporated to reduce friction and wear.  In keeping with the theme of beauty and spirituality, the mainplate of the RM 019 caliber is wrought from black onyx, a gemstone said to offer protection from negative thought, and promote inspiration.  The steel components have been meticulously finished, using a variety of techniques, to include anglage, burnishing, and satining.  Gear wheels are produced with equal attention to superlative finish, displaying circular-finished faces and concave chamfering realized with a diamond tool.  

The Richard Mille RM 019 Celtic Knot Tourbillon will feature straps in crocodile leather, and buckles in red or white gold.  The large winding crown has a collar in the synthetic material "Alcryn", to enhance ease of operation.
