Zenith Class Open watch

The Zenith Class Open watch presents an appealing combination of luxury craftsmanship, horological excellence, and classic design infused with provocative details. Crafted from stainless steel or 18K rose gold, the case of this Zenith timepiece displays sublime contrasts between brushed and polished surfaces. Ticking inside the Zenith Class Open watch is one of the finest self-winding chronograph calibers ever produced---the famous El Primero.

Introduced by Zenith in 1969, this movement gained its laurels through its combination of traditional high quality construction and uniquely rapid balance wheel frequency. Like the original El Primero movement, the Zenith El Primero 4021H caliber features this famous high-speed balance wheel, which beats at 36,000 alternations per hour; this remarkable detail permits the chronograph to have 1/10 second timing precision. Other notable features of the chronograph mechanism include the fully contained non-modular construction, and the implementation of a column wheel. In addition to these fine details, this Zenith timepiece also offers a power reserve indicator.

The Zenith Class Open watch is presented in two sizes: the 40mm Class Open model, and a 44mm version, which is classified as the Grande Class Open. In stainless steel or 18K gold, each variation is offered by Zenith with a strap in alligator leather or rubber, or an alternative matching bracelet. Each Zenith Class Open timepiece has an exhibition window in sapphire crystal set into the caseback, which permits a tantalizing view of the complex Zenith El Primero mechanism.
