Vulcain Aviator GMT "The Pandas" Watch, A Symbol Of Peace In Cloisonne Enamel

Swiss watch brand Vulcain has introduced a limited edition world time alarm watch, which showcases the rare art of cloisonne enameling.  Presented in a 42mm case produced from 18-karat white or rose gold, this special Vulcain Aviator GMT timepiece presents a charming dial that depicts two reclining pandas eating bamboo amidst lush green foliage.  A natural symbol of peace and harmony beloved through the world, the delightful panda is an ideal subject to be captured in the arduous medium of enamel, whereby cells formed by thin hand-bent wires house powdered glass and metal oxides that form vibrantly unique and enduring colors when fired at high temperatures.  

The Vulcain Aviator GMT "The Pandas" watch is animated by the hand-wound Vulcain V-14 caliber, which has double spring barrels and a balance frequency of 18,000 alternations per hour.  Travelers will enjoy excellent functionality, thanks to an adjustable world time disc and a supplementary 24-hour GMT hand.  Vulcain's alarm function has a duration of 15 to 20 seconds, its sound effectively amplified by a specially designed double caseback system that serves as a resonance chamber.  Sweep seconds are also featured.  Aesthetically, the Vulcain V-14 caliber is distinguished by bridges with Cotes de Geneve patterns, and blued screws.  Movement power reserve is 42 hours.  

Vulcain will produce 30 examples of "The Pandas" Aviator GMT watch in both rose and white gold; the cloisonne dial tastefully displays the individual number of each watch.  A strap in Louisiana alligator leather and an 18K gold ardillon buckle is standard.  The timepiece has a sapphire crystal, and is water resistant to 100 meters.
