Ulysse Nardin GMT Watch

Ulysse Nardin is one of the finest independent Swiss Timepiece manufacturers in the world and their GMT Dual Time collection is proof of that. GMT watches are also known as Dual Time watches because they measure two time zones in a single movement. GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time, which of course is the time zone off which all other time zones are set worldwide. Ulysse Nardin first designed the GMT Dual Time Big Date watch in 1993. There are several versions of the GMT Dual Time, and all of them feature Ulysse’s plus and minus pushers.

These pushers are set on the left side of the case at eight and ten o’clock. These plus and minus hour pushers make this dual time watch extremely easy to adjust. To adjust the local time one merely has to push either the plus or minus pushers to move the local time forwards or backwards one hour at a time. The GMT Dual Time measures your “home time” (for your home city) in separate display window at nine o’clock. Ulysse Nardin’s designers places the date window between two and three o’clock with a split window for easing reading.

The Dual Time GMT is set in a beautiful round case that measures 40mm in diameter. You can choose either a stainless steel or rose gold case. The dial color choices include gray, white, and black. Ulysse Nardin is well know for the guilloche work on their dials and the GMT Big Date displays this as well as any other Ulysse model. The GMT Big date features the patented UN-22 movement with a 42 power reserve. The leather strap color choices include brown, black and blue. Ulysse has ensured that the GMT Big Date can withstand the rigors of sport making it water resistant to 100 meters.
