Gronenfeld GTM-06 Tourbillon Minute Repeater Watch, Haute Horlogerie From The Netherlands

Netherlands-based watchmakers Bart and Tim Gronefeld have debuted their first creation, a highly complicated wristwatch with tourbillon and minute repeater.  Dubbed the GTM-06, the prestigious creation features a stately 44mm case crafted from 18-karat rose gold or platinum, that features crown guards and distinctive scarab-style lugs; a slide-piece on the left side governs the minute repeater, which upon activation, chimes the hours, quarter hours, and minutes on two particularly resonant cathedral gongs.  

The Gronefeld GTM-06 Tourbillon Minute Repeater is animated by a manual winding caliber designed by renowned horological master Christophe Claret; it is one of the few minute repeating movements that presents the repeater hammers on the dial-side of the watch.  The extensive haute horlogerie finishing, which includes Cotes de Geneve and anglage on the bridges, beveled jewel and screw-settings, and speculaire on the steel hammers and tourbillon cage, is entirely executed by the brothers Gronefeld.  In all, the movement comprises 365 individual pieces.  Balance frequency is a classical 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour.  

Underscoring the intricacy and beauty of the complex movement is the dial edge, which is crafted from black onyx.  Also notable are the distinctive skeleton and wedge-shaped minute and hour hands, the latter of which displays the signature Gronefeld "G".  Six individually numbered pieces of the Gronefeld GTM-06 Tourbillon Minute Repeater watch will be produced in rose gold, with another four examples being available in platinum.  The watches are fitted with a crocodile leather strap and a double-deployant buckle in gold or platinum.
