Pre-Baselworld 2009: Ebel Classic Lady Automatic Steel & Red Gold Watch

At the Baselworld 2009 exhibition in April, Swiss watchmaker Ebel will introduce self-winding versions of its Classic Lady timepiece.  These models, which share the seamless monocoque case construction and refined brushed finishing of their siblings, are distinguished by a particularly elegant combination of stainless steel and 5N 18-karat red gold.  

The Ebel Classic Lady Automatic Steel & Red Gold watch will be presented in three versions.  The most basic features a classical white dial with eleven hand-applied Roman numeral hour markers, and a red gold bezel.  Version two substitutes the white Roman dial for one in mother of pearl, accented by eleven round brilliant-cut diamonds at the hours.  The final variant is the most opulent; also featuring the diamond-set mother of pearl dial, this model has a bezel adorned with 42 "Top Wesselton" round brilliant diamonds.  

The Ebel Classic Lady Automatic watches measure 27.30mm in diameter, and are fitted with crystals in scratch-resistant sapphire.  The mechanical ETA 2000-1 movement animates a quickly adjustable date function as well as central sweep seconds.  Frequency of the balance is 28,800 vibrations per hour, and power reserve is 40 hours.
