Like all Glashutte Original watches, the "SeaShell" proudly features a hand-decorated mechanical movement, designed and manufactured in Glashutte. Only precious materials feature in the creation of this Glashutte Original timepiece. The 39.4mm case is sculpted from 18K white gold, and displays a lustrous polished finish on the sides of the case and tops of the lugs. A spectacular bezel, set with 64 round brilliant diamonds adds a touch of sophistication, and perhaps symbolizes the sparkling light off the ocean waves; it is matched by the distinctive winding crown, which is topped by a single diamond mounted with its culet upwards.

The dial is a masterpiece of detail--crafted from gold, plated with silver and engraved with a guilloche pattern that catches the light, its theme celebrates the sea. The off-centered time display mimics a seashell, and is highlighted with round brilliant diamonds and beautiful mother of pearl elements. Beneath it, in the sub seconds hand turns in a fanciful section that resembles a starfish. Round brilliant diamonds accent the edge of the stunning silvery window in the upper right corner, which depicts the moon against a starry silver sky. The Glashutte Original SeaShell watch is animated by a superbly crafted self-winding movement. An exclusive creation of this renowned German manufacturer, the Caliber 90 is an exemplar of both design an craftsmanship. Enriched with a moonphase complication and the previously mentioned panorama date display, the Caliber 90 features a balance wheel which alternates 28,800 times each hour, and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours at full wind. The sapphire crystal window in the caseback invites the owner to admire the opulent decorations which adorn the Caliber 90. Vertical stripes, blued steel screws, and a double sunburst pattern on the winding wheels all mesmerize, as does the skeletonized three-quarter rotor with its 21K gold segment.

Unique to this Glashutte Original movement is the spectacular balance wheel assembly, with its hand-engraved bridge that features a duplex swan-neck adjustment.
