TIP: Girard-Perregaux Ceramic Ball-bearings

Ball-bearings have been a key element in automatic, mechanical movements for a long time. Indeed the use of steel ball-bearings poses a certain number of problems linked mostly to the the lubrication required for their smooth functioning. In order to resolve these problems, Girard-Perregaux was one of the first watch brands to develop and install ceramic ball-bearings, the use of which enables the elimination of all lubrication and guarantees greater efficiency of the movement. This system avoids the following inconveniences such as oils coagulating and aging, the accelerated aging and wear of the bearings, especially when oil is lacking and the production of particles creates a risk of pollution to the movement. These need no oiling at all and make the movement even more efficient.
