Beveling a bridge required two full days of work. The watchmaker then applies the finish to some 13 apertures (holes provided for screws), polishing each one meticulously with cut boxwood. Finally, they carefully polish the bridge surfaces. The painstaking task requires 7 full days of work. The gold marking plates engraved with the piece number and calibre number are also indivually beveled with a chisel before being polished and rhodium plated. The time required for each marking plate varies between 3 and 4 hours.
