Corum $20 Coin watch

The Corum $20 Coin watch is one of the most iconic luxury timepieces ever created.  First introduced by Corum at the 1965 Basel Fair, the $20 Coin watch (or "Golden Coin" watch, as it is sometimes called) brought much fame to the brand; owned by many an American president, this special timepiece has became an coveted heirloom to be passed down through the generations.  The case of the Corum $20 Coin watch is made from the magnificent American Liberty "Double Eagle" gold coin, which was first struck in 1850 and minted until 1907. 

Corum begins with one of these rare 22K gold coins, which is then carefully hewn in half, with the back piece painstakingly hollowed out to accommodate the selfwinding Frederic Piguet movement.  After the two pieces are expertly rejoined, there is no evidence that any separation ever occurred, resulting in a beautiful watch which embodies horological fascination, and a rich historical legacy.  The superbly rich dial is distinguished by slender baton hands which make this timepiece superbly suited for any dressy or special occasion.  Due to the finite number of these rare, coveted American Liberty Double Eagle gold coins, the production of this watch is naturally limited.
