Corum Bubble Baron Samedi watch

The Corum Bubble Baron Samedi watch is a Limited Edition Collectors series Bubble timepiece that pays tribute to a significant figure in Voodoo mythology--the infamous Baron Samedi, who stands at the crossroads where the souls of the dead move on to the underworld. 

To commemorate this mysterious, shadowy ancestral spirit of the dead, Corum has created a spectacular dial with a carved rendering of the Baron, wearing his characteristic top hat, surrounded by flames rendered in seductively shiny lacquer; a striking second hand, in the form of a voodoo pin, sweeps the dial, adding to the tantalizingly creepy intrigue. 

The Corum Bubble watches are famed for their uniquely domed sapphire crystals, which are over 10mm thick in their center.  Not only exceptionally strong and resistant to scratching and damage, these crystals produce a range of visual effects, including magnification and parallax distortion, particularly fascinating when applied to a unforgettable and spectacular dial subject like the Baron Samedi. 

The Corum Bubble Baron Samedi watch features a water-resistant 45mm case made from finely brushed stainless steel or 18K rose gold.  Corum is offering the Baron Samedi watch in a limited edition of 777 pieces in steel, 177 pieces in steel with a diamond-set bezel, 77 pieces in 18K rose gold, 27 pieces in 18K rose gold with a diamond-set bezel, and only 7 pieces in 18K rose gold with a diamond-set bezel and a pave-diamond set case; all versions of this Corum Bubble watch are completed by a crocodile strap complete with a stainless steel or 18K rose gold triple-deployant clasp with a push-button release. 

To ensure that the path to Guinee (the underworld) is kept in a smooth timely flow, Corum has chosen a precise, reliable Swiss selfwinding movement to animate the Bubble Baron Samedi watch; this movement has a power-reserve of approximately 42 hours, and its mechanism, visible through the sapphire case-back displays fine perlage decoration and a winding rotor which shows a unique voodoo design and the collection signature.
